You Can Now Order a MakerBot Replicator Mini – Ships this Spring

replicatorminiAt CES 2014 in Las Vegas, we saw 3 new MakerBot Replicator printers make their debut. Today, MakerBot announces that they are now taking orders for the smallest and most affordable of these three; the MakerBot Replicator Mini.

The Replicator Mini is priced at only $1,375, and has a maximum build volume of 10.0L x 10.0W X 12.5H cm (3.9L x 3.9W x 4.9H inches). It offers plug and play features, and includes a One-Touch 3D printing option.

The Mini, like the other recently announced 5th generation MakerBot 3D printers includes an onboard camera so that you can share your printouts on social media networks. It also includes app and cloud enabled workflow, Wi-Fi connectivity, and more.

All of the 5th generation MakerBot pritners also come with a “Smart Extruder” which is extremely easy to swap out. It detects the absence of filament and will automatically pause a printing job so that you can fill it.

“Reflecting on the future of our products, I imagine a lot of them will look like the MakerBot Replicator Mini,” explained CEO of MakerBot, Bre Pettis. “We’ve been working hard for years to make 3D printing easy; now, with the MakerBot Replicator Mini, it is easy. We view the MakerBot Replicator Mini as a versatile and tidy 3D printer that can fit almost anywhere – up at the Space Station, at an elite institution, or in a preschool.”

While the printer is available to order as of today, it will not begin shipping until sometime this spring. To order you can do so online at MakerBot’s website, or by calling 347-334-6800. They will also be available in the official MakerBot retail stores located in Boston, New York, and Greenwich, Conn.
