While the market still needs time to grow, there are companies like filament manufacturer EUMAKERS that have set their sights on widespread consumer adoption of 3D printing and are making every effort to see their huge selection of color PLA filament maker their way to them. The next step is the EUMAKEIT project.

From the very beginning EUMAKERS offered an unparalleled selection of colors (over 80) in both 1.75 and 2.85 mm diameters, including in each package an exclusive transformable spool which could be turned into a decorative coat hanger. Now the company is moving on to the next phase: EUMAKEIT will offer a total of 20 exclusive design products that can be easily created by combining the spools with additional 3D printable parts.

Currently there are five designs already available to download for free from the dedicated page on the EUMAKERS website. They include a designer lamp, a headphone holder, a Nespresso capsule dispenser, a ’70s inspired ice cream cup and even a stylish tablet holder. They can all be downloaded for free and sold separately in every one of EUMAKERS’ current and future distributors and partner shops. The idea is to offer design products, 3D printed on demand, on location and in any of the desired colors available.

“We created this project to give global distributors more options to grow their business,” says Demi Sfregola, EUMAKERS founder and also the CEO of Rigenera, the large biodegradable and recyclable plastic manufacturing company behind the EUMAKERS project. “We try to give our partners as many options as possible, starting from an unparalleled selection of filament colors, which will soon reach over 100 different option and many other products.”

The goal of EUMAKEIT is to offer products that can be used and even sold through its partner s and resellers.

The free designs add to a complete product offering from EUMAKERS which also includes full color 3D printing services for all their partners. Becoming part of the network is actually extremely easy since it only requires a small initial spool purchase. All EUMAKERS partners are able to offer their customers services such as 3D photos reliefs, physicalization of children doodles, full color mini-me statuettes, a rapid prototyping service and more, all at some of the most accessible costs on the market today.

For a company like Rigenera, which produces mass quantities of recycled and biocompatible plastics for general use, the filament and 3D printing business currently represents just a forward looking bet. However these investments have paid off in the past, when they began to focus on green plastics. Their recent activities in 3D printing are a natural evolutionary step, and the exclusive design products that can be created with it, which are also a way to recycle every part of a filament spool, are the key to future growth. Filaments are just the beginning.
