Dim3W Smart 3D Printing Pen Released

Ever since last March, when the 3Doodler, 3D printing pen raised over $2.3 million on Kickstarter, the market for 3D printing pens have taken off. Although it’s very difficult to compare one of these devices to an actual 3D printer, there does seem to be an adequate amount of interest in these pens, especially among teens and young adults. A 3D printing pen is not really any closer to an actual 3D printer than a pen is to your basic inkjet computer printer, but that has not stopped the interest in these new devices.

Dim3Printing, has announced the release of their latest device, the Dim3W Smart 3D Pen, a 3D printing smart pen, which they claim can be an important part of every day life. The pen itself, is very similar to the 3Doodler in looks, however it has some extra bells and whistles. It can print in both ABS and PLA filaments, and costs just $99.

“We believe that the best way to get ourselves educated with the 3D printing and digitized manufacturing is to start with enjoyable playing experiences. Using the Dim3W Smart 3D printing pen, everybody may be thrilled to bring the 3D printing into his/her daily life,” said the Director of Dim3printing, Bin Hu of.

Here are some important features of this new 3D printing smart pen:

Preorders for the pen are now being accepted from the company’s distributors and re-sellers, while the first shipments will be made next month. The pen is available in four colors, gray, white, yellow, and red.
