Y Soft and be3D Announce the Global Availability of Their Versatile Professional 3D Printer, the DeeRed

Since 2014, we’ve been following office solutions provider Y Soft and, in particular, their 3D printing division be3D. We were impressed with the Czech company’s DeeGreen desktop 3D printer, which was just made globally available towards the end of last year. This week, be3D has announced the general availability of their professional 3D printer, the DeeRed. While the DeeRed has been around since well before the DeeGreen was developed, the industrial printer has never been available for global shipment before, and, to mark the occasion, be3D has added several improvements and modifications to update its appeal.
One of the most attractive features of the DeeRed is its large print chamber, which is now 30% bigger than it was before. At 400mm x 600mm x 800mm, it’s one of the largest print chambers among Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) 3D printers in its price range, and allows for the printing of large objects, with or without supports, in one go instead of in several pieces. The redesign has also made the printer smaller overall, however – it’s pretty compact by industrial printer standards, which tend to still be large, clunky beasts for the most part. A nice big touchscreen panel allows for easy control and monitoring of the print process via webcam, plus simple ethernet connection.
“We were impressed by YSoft be3D DeeRed’s price-performance ratio when it was introduced to the market,” said Michal Bizoň, R&D Director at HBPO Czech s.r.o, a leading automotive manufacturer who has been using the DeeRed for prototyping purposes. “We were looking for a solution that would help us to simplify and speed up the prototyping process which is an important part of our business. DeeRed’s large chamber, broad material compatibility and ease of use are features that are crucial for achieving this goal.”
The DeeRed has also made its way into educational settings, which is rare for a professional 3D printer – usually the classroom is the domain of desktop printers. It’s a particularly user-friendly printer, though, which makes it ideal for the teaching of more expanded 3D printing applications. Its proprietary DeeControl software has also been updated with expanded print profiles to make the design-to-print process easier and faster.
“Purchasing decisions in manufacturing are driven by three crucial factors: reliability, speed and minimal demand on users’ technical skills,” said David Miklas, CEO of Y Soft be3D. “Successfully addressing these factors with an aggressively competitive price were our key goals when developing DeeRed.”
The DeeRed features dual extruders
Other nice features of the DeeRed include dual extruders for multi-material or multi-color printing, a removable print platform and a simple stop and go button so that print jobs can be easily paused. It’s capable of printing in high detail, down to 100 microns, in a wide range of materials including PLA, ABS, HIPS, and PVA.
The DeeRed is retailing at €25,000 (about $28,000), and delivery can be expected about one month after ordering. The printer was presented this week at the Global Education Supplies and Solutions (GESS) exhibition in Dubai, together with Y Soft’s partner Atlab.
