Sergey Kolesnik
There are plenty of places to go online, when you want to 3D print toys. There are sites like Thingiverse, and other 3D model repositories, which allow you to download some very unique designs. However, it is rare that you come across models that are truly breathtaking.
One artist, named Sergey Kolesnik has come up with a 3D printed toy scorpion that is quite amazing. Kolesnik, who studied to become a lawyer, but later discovered that what he truly wanted to do in life was to be a 3D artist, lives in a small town called Labytnangi, which is located on the Yamal Peninsula in Russia. With the help of a friend, he purchased an Ultimaker 2 3D printer, and has ever since been busy creating some really incredible works of art.

“Several years ago I was doing 3D illustration for a magazine,” Kolesnik tells 3DPrint.com. “I decided that I would do a series of toy robot beetles/insects at a future date. Now, thanks to 3D printing, I have started to create them.”
He plans on 3D modeling, and then 3D printing some of the more well known insects (and in this case arachnids) of the world. He started off with a 3D printed scorpion which looks almost exactly like the real thing. It also has movable body parts, including a life-like tail. Next he plans to create a dragonfly, praying mantis, a beetle and more.

Kolesnik used an Ultimaker 2 3D printer to print out the scorpion with PLA filament. As you can see in the video below, and some of the photos, it turned out amazingly well.
