Stratasys is seemingly taking the dental industry’s use of 3D printing quite seriously. Yesterday they announced a reseller agreement with the world’s largest Dental laser manufacturer, Biolase, and today they have made 
The first announcement is about a new printer which they are unveiling today at the LMT Lab Day Show in Chicago. It’s the Objet Eden260V Dental Advantage 3D Printer. Stratasys claims that the new printer will print up to 33% faster than the other devices used within the dental industry today, and has a build tray which is up to 40% larger than that of other printers. The Eden 260V Dental Advantage is meant for larger dental and orthodontic labs, is the size of a typical office copy machine, and aims to increase production speed of its users by printing faster and allowing for several objects to be printed at once on it’s extra large print bed.
“Stratasys continues to make digital dentistry happen and is fully committed to this market,” said Avi Cohen, Director of Global Dental at Stratasys. “The Objet Eden260V Dental Advantage 3D printer is a cost-effective solution package that is designed to increase productivity and turnaround times while delivering precision prototypes and production parts.”
The Specifications of this new printer are as follows:
- Power requirements: 110-240 VAC 50/60 Hz; 1.5 KW single phase
- Tray size: 260 x 260 x 200 mm (10.24 × 10.24 × 7.9 in)
- Layer thickness (Z-axis): horizontal build layers as fine as 16 microns (0.0006 in)
- Machine dimensions: 870 x 735 x 1200 mm (34.25 x 28.9 x 47.25 in)
- Machine weight: 410 kg (902 lbs)
- Build resolution: X-axis 600 dpi; Y-axis 600 dpi; Z-axis 1600 dpi
- Material cartridges: four sealed 3.6 kg (7.9 lbs) cartridges
The second announcement today, is the unveiling of a new dental material which can be used in several of Stratasys’ 3D printers. The material, called VeroGlaze, was developed in order to give dental labs the ability to
