Alain Dupont Announced as Arcam’s New President of Advanced Powders & Coatings

Fast-growing additive manufacturing company Arcam AB has been hard to keep up with lately, as they expand, acquire, and add to their corporation at seemingly a lightning pace. Just a week ago, they announced the relocation of their President and CEO Magnus René to their Woburn, Massachusetts office, in a move designed to more aggressively pursue expansion within the American market. Last month, the company’s Montreal, Canada-based metal powder manufacturing subsidiary, AP&C (Advanced Powders and Coatings), filed two patents for new metal materials they had developed.

AP&C hasn’t been slowed down by the retirement of Jacques Mallette, who had been president of the company since 2011. Mallette will remain involved in the company as Chairman of the Board, and yesterday AP&C announced that the position of President has been filled by Alain Dupont, who will take over as of January 12, 2016.

“Jacques has done an outstanding job transforming AP&C from a research oriented powder shop to the largest and most respected manufacturer of advanced metal powders for additive manufacturing,” said René. “With the present strong team at AP&C further strengthened by the addition of Alain Dupont we have the organization to continue AP&C’s strong growth and business development.”

Dupont, who holds degrees in business and law administration, has worked for GE for several years, holding various positions in the corporation’s various divisions in Canada, France and Japan.

Further changes are coming within Arcam as well. Subsidiary DiSanto Technology, an additive manufacturing company focused on medical and orthopedic implants, will say goodbye to their president, Ronald Dunn, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities. A successor has not been announced yet, but the decision is expected to be made and finalized at the beginning of 2016.

As for Arcam AB’s main headquarters in Mölndal, Sweden, Arcam Group CFO Johan Brandt has been appointed Executive Vice President and CFO following René’s relocation to the United States.
