3D Systems to Host Close to 300 ‘Manufacturing the Future’ Seminars on 3D Printing Around the World

Although 3D printing technology has been in use within the manufacturing sector for years, the majority of businesses which could benefit from the technology have yet to adopt it. This is likely due to the fact that only recently has 3D printing really become affordable and easy to use. Every day I talk to companies that are new to the technology, adopting it only to find that the benefits to their businesses are far greater than they had ever imagined. I usually walk away with an impression that they wish they would have integrated 3D printers into their businesses a long time ago.

At the same time, I have also spoken to numerous companies who have yet to adopt the technology, but clearly could see substantial benefits in doing so. The reason for this lack of adoption is simply that they don’t totally understand how 3D printers function, what their long term costs and cost savings may be, or which printers would be best for their particular businesses. As with any major capital expenditure, a fear of the unknown can take hold, paralyzing a company’s executives from executing on the changes which may be best for their company.

3D Systems’ ProX 500

One of the leaders within the 3D printing industry, 3D Systems, seems to understand this lack of information within the market. Since March of this year, the company has held over 300 ‘Manufacturing the Future‘ seminars around the world, aimed at informing, educating, training and inspiring local businesses, designers, entrepreneurs and other professionals around the globe on the benefits of 3D printing. Such seminars have been an overwhelming success, both in educating the general public, as well as driving businesses to adopt 3D Systems’ numerous 3D printer and scanner offerings.

Since March, the seminars have managed to reach over 7,000 individuals. Today 3D Systems has announced a major extension of this seminar program. From now until October, they will continue offering their seminar series with about 300 events throughout the world. The seminars which are listed here, will take place at various 3D Systems reseller locations.

“This seminar series not only represents our commitment to providing the most complete set of 3D printers and expanding our portfolio, but it also exemplifies our dedication to our clients and to helping them find the right mix of cost and 3D printing capabilities that will drive their business into a successful future,” said Michele Marchesan, Chief Opportunity Officer, 3D Systems.

3D Systems’ Projet® 1200

Each seminar will demonstrate a variety of products which 3D Systems offers their clients. These products include 3D printers, scanners, materials, and more. According to 3D Systems those attending the seminars will be able to learn about all of the following:

Certainly what 3D Systems is doing will expand the market for this technology, as well as spread knowledge within various industries on the up and coming technologies which are affordably becoming available to them. For those who are not able to attend any of the approximately 300 seminars over the next three months, then there is a complimentary recorded webcast available here.
