The service Dropbox is an excellent way to back up and store all of your files in existence, from any device. You can access these files and share them from anywhere, right? What’s not to like about this convenient service? Well, there has been a glitch until now, but it’s been fixed. Until recently, iOS users, especially of the 3D printing variety, have been unable to upload 3D models to i.materialise on mobile devices. But all that has changed, making it easier for 3D designers and 3D printing professionals to use every means at their disposal for getting ideas out there and materialized faster than you can say the words “Dropbox to i.materialise.”
iOS users can download an app to use Dropbox for i.materialise here. Once you have some 3D files in your Dropbox, you then go to i.materialise’s 3D print lab and upload your files there. As with all other uploads, i.materialise will give you instant prices on all new uploads in more than 100 different finishes and materials. Also, now that you can use your Apple device to submit your designs, why not create some accessories for it? The Apple Accessory 3D Printing Challenge, sponsored by i.materialise and Rhinoceros, is still accepting entries until December 20. It all sounds and looks easy enough, right? iOS users of i.materialise now have it much easier when it comes to full access design of 3D models, so get busy, already!
