MASSIVit 3D & PriscoDigital Ink Deal for Distribution of MASSIVit 1800 3D Printer in US & Canada

It’s not exactly completely out with the old and in with the new as we start thinking about ushering in 2016, but a number of insightful companies around the world are quickly following the HP lead, and while still relying on their traditional sales and bread and butter in terms of hardware and software distribution, as well as peripherals, they are making some major space for 3D printers in their gameplan.

Israel’s MASSIVit 3D is certainly in the loop regarding this sort of transition, as their company, responsible for producing some unique and powerful new 3D printing solutions was founded in 2013 by a group of industry veterans, all very experienced in digital printing, and with 50 cumulative years of experience between them. Going all in to 3D printing, they are now working with other companies like PriscoDigital who are ready to do a little more than just dip their toes in the water.

PriscoDigital, headquartered in NJ, is indeed taking the plunge, adding to their reputation in offering not only pressroom solutions and world-class industrial inkjet systems, but now also the MASSIVit 1800 3D printer to all of their printing markets in the US and also Canada. Just inking a deal, the two companies now have a distribution agreement for PriscoDigital to sell and also support MASSIVit’s 3D printing wide format solutions.

Both companies are well aware that other print service providers that PriscoDigital supports currently are interested in adding groundbreaking technology like the MASSIVit 1800 to their product lineups as a way to create new opportunities, more business with existing clients, and of course–increase the bottom line.

We’ve been following MASSIVit 3D for quite some time now, and the MASSIVit 1800 with great interest. This is the highly substantial piece of equipment that was responsible for 3D printing a Strati car in June. Offering a truly new and unique platform, the MASSIVit 1800 operates through gel dispensed printing, allowing for the fabrication of enormous objects made very fast–and using a combination of FDM and SLA techniques.

The gel application system, ‘Dimengel,’ is capable of producing 3D printed objects close to 6’ x 5’ x 4’ in size. Highlighted specs are:

Both PriscoDigital and MASSIVit see the printer as having huge potential for retailers, and also those who are interested in creating large, impressive displays for events.

“PriscoDigital is a leading value added supplier and we are delighted that they will be our partner in the US & Canada,” said Avner Israeli, CEO of MASSIVit 3D. “We are sure that their large and knowledgeable national sales and technical organization calling on Print Service Providers in the U.S., as well as their strong presence in Canada, will ensure a great future for our 3D printing solution and a profitable and exciting future for their customers who will now have easy access to our solution.”

Along with retailers, the MASSIVit 3D team sees their products as being beneficial in numerous areas, such as:

“Our new relationship with MASSIVit is an important milestone for PriscoDigital. We have been highly impressed with MASSIVit 3D and their innovative solution. Our customers are very enthusiastic and excited to have the ability to add another dimension to their activity and start offering highly attractive printing solutions to their customers,” said Steve Zunde, President of PriscoDigital.

“It is a significant expansion of our capability to provide complete and stateof-the-art wide format solutions that complement our current digital printing and finishing portfolios. And it is further evidence of our commitment to seek-out and partner with strong industry-leading brands and powerful solutions that offer affordable leading-edge technologies that assist our customers to expand their business opportunities and increase profitability.”

As we see many larger companies like HP making sweeping changes and putting a serious focus on 3D printing–almost as if they will rely on it as their next economy–it’s obvious that this new technology is causing a transformation, but a secure one. The companies looking ahead, like PriscoDigital, who are still very ingrained in the traditional like inkjet printing and other areas (just as HP), yet are able to break out–and not without some bravery and risk–and begin integrating 3D printing, will be the winners as they give their customers what they want and expect.
