XYZprinting Announces a Partnership with Sam’s Club

xyzThis year, Taiwanese manufacturer XYZprinting has been at the top of the 3D printer sales charts, with its printer shipments making up 22% of all 3D printers shipped worldwide in 2015. I expect their numbers will continue to grow, especially now that they’ve announced an online partnership with Sam’s Club. The wholesale giant has been selling MakerBot printers since March of this year, but today they announced that XYZprinting’s filaments and da Vinci line of fused filament fabrication printers will now be available for online purchase through their website.

“We are thrilled to partner with SamsClub.com and extend the benefits of our 3D printers to our broad consumer audience,” said Simon Shen, CEO of XYZprinting. “It has been our focus to expand the distribution of our products to SMBs, designers, and engineers because we believe 3D printing provides a more affordable option to design, build, iterate and innovate more often, and at a faster rate.”

XYZprinting’s da Vinci 3D printers have been popular because of their accessibility and affordability, with the compact, easy to use da Vinci Jr. printer retailing for only $349. At the other end of the spectrum is the da Vinci AiO
(all in one) 3D printer and scanner, still affordable at $799. Currently the line consists of six printer models: the da Vinci 1.0, da Vinci 2.0, da Vinci 1.1 Plus, da Vinci 1.0 Jr., da Vinci 1.0 Pro and the da Vinci 1.0 AiO.  The company has announced that several more are on the way, including a food printer. Sam’s Club will also be offering XYZprinting’s refillable ABS filament cartridges for $24.99 and their biodegradable PLA filaments for $27.99.

In August, XYZprinting began selling its printers and filaments through Walmart.com; now that they’ve expanded to include affiliate Sam’s Club, they should draw in an even larger customer base, especially since the holiday bargain-hunting season is already almost upon us.

XYZ printers have become known as good starter printers for those who are looking to explore the field but are not ready for a massive investment. They may not be the absolute top of the line when it comes to quality, but their reliability, inexpensive price range and ease of use have earned them a solid customer base. A partnership with bargain retailers like Walmart and Sam’s Club shows that the company knows what its base is, too, and how to best target it.

“XYZprinting’s 3D printers are a perfect fit for SamsClub.com’s members of professionals, small business owners and educators who are interested in integrating 3D printing into their businesses and lives,” the company stated. “Consumers purchasing a XYZprinting 3D printer will also have the benefit and safety of XYZprinting’s one-year free warranty, supported by extensive online customer service and useful tutorials on YouTube.”
