Gambody Brings Gaming to Life in Marketplace, Offering 3D Printable Video Game Models

assasins creedAs the mother of two teenage boys who I sometimes worry might be teetering on the edge of requiring a professional gaming intervention, I can attest for the affinity gamers have for enjoying replicas of the characters, along with all the accoutrements. In lightning speed we seemed to have graduated from Elmo and SpongeBob and gone straight to Assassin’s Creed and the like, with gaming, discussing, rendering, and even spending lots of allowance money on elaborate costumes. I can surely envision 3D printed figurines crouched on my desk. And that’s where Gambody comes in, combining gaming and 3D printing in a perfect alchemy of fantasy, science, art—and instant gratification, as the creator can gbdesign something and make it.

Gambody brings together a whole community of avid gamers and 3D printing enthusiasts with a marketplace that provides them with 3D printable game models, and a venue to buy, sell, make, and create gifts, as well as interact from their individual ‘pages,’ which allow them to share things and hopefully set new trends.

“Gambody is a marketplace of 3D printing layouts. This project is aimed to unite all those people who can’t imagine their lives without gaming, as they all dream of taking part in its creation,”says Yurii Efimov, co-founder. “Gambody gives this opportunity to any gamer who is involved in gaming and wants to be even closer.”

Working to advance 3D printing in tandem with the gaming community, Gambody was created to encourage everyone interested to bring their 3D printable designs to the online marketplace which offers a “complete and highly customizable platform.” Although sharing new creations and coming up with new ideas is certainly embodied, Gambody embraces commerce, where individuals can buy and sell, and look forward to an income source from a hobby which they are passionate about. “Our product is for fans of video games and new technology–for real geeks!” says Efimov.

Gambody offers the option of becoming a merchant for doing business, and everyone who signs up as a user receives their own page, where they are encouraged to buy, sell, show off or give away designs. The website does take the items they offer for sale very seriously, and merchants who are selling items at Gambody are not permitted to sell similar items anywhere else, thus keeping the product base unique. Their service has gotten the attention of gaming companies such as Blizzard, VALVE, EA Games, and Wargaming, and it will be exciting to see what partnerships follow. Gambody also has an intellectual property protection solution which prevents files from being illegally distributed or stolen.
