International Shining 3D Fashion Contest Beckons to Innovative Fashion Designers

3D printing and fashion is not only a winning combination, but also one of the most exciting media to explore as we watch the new technology of 3D design and printing take flight, sweeping and stunning the world with innovation.

Many designers of fashion and jewelry have signed up for the exciting journey in 3D as well, often showing off items like 3D printed dresses and 3D shoes at premieres and on the runway. Industrial design students also add to their portfolios, demonstrating both technical talent and versatility as they mix revolutionary new 3D design and 3D printing technology with traditional aspects as well for materials in creating 3D printed dresses and shoes and more, as well as accessories.

Now it’s your turn to sign up for your own 3D printing innovation journey with the challenging and rewarding Shining 3D Fashion Contest coming at you from China’s Shining 3D and Pinshape, headquartered in both Vancouver and San Francisco. The whole team at 3DPrint.com is also particularly excited to be involved as a media sponsor.

In an international competition that invites designers to go all out with attention-grabbing designs, there are awesome prizes to be awarded to six lucky individuals, with one prize going to each category, with the exception of third prize which will be awarded to three winning contestants.

Grand Prize consists of:

  • ¥20,000 (translating to a little more than $3225 USD)
  • Einscan-S desktop 3D Scanner from Shining3D
  • Work shown at the 3D printing Fashion Show

1st Prize consists of:download

There is no fee to enter the contest, and it ends on May 15th. Competitors can enter as many designs as they would like, with the goal being to get as many likes on Pinshape as possible. The more likes—the more your chances of winning, and while the cash and 3D printers are great incentive, so should be the exposure you’ll receive if you are lucky enough to have your work shown off on stage at the 2nd International 3D Printing Fashion Show at the 2015 World 3D Printing and Technology Industry Conference & Expo from June 3-6 in Chengdu, China.

So where you should you head with this? As long as you are shooting for the stars with something unique, Shining 3D and Pinshape suggest innovative designs in any mode you can think of, and 2014including:

  • Hats
  • Accessories like purses, belts, and more
  • Jewelry
  • Dresses
  • Shirts

Entries are already streaming, so feel free to check out Pinshape for inspiration, as well as determining how stiff the competition is. Designers have been having a lot of fun with the contest so far, coming up with many elegant, unique creations. Once you are finished with your design, simply upload it to Pinshape. Winners will be announced May 25th.
